The regular jack is intended only for short-term lifting of the car at wheel replacement; before performance of any works under the car it is necessary to establish it on special props!

The spare wheel, jack, forward towing bracket and tools are stored in the hatch of a luggage compartment. The handle of a jack lies in a bag about a spare wheel. For access to the hatch of a luggage carrier lift a cover. The lifted cover it is possible to assign the upper edge of a wall of a luggage carrier by means of a hook located on it.

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Park the car on an equal horizontal platform, whenever possible with a firm covering.
  2. Cock the parking brake and establish the AT selector lever in the situation "P" (on models from AT) or include the first or reverse gear (on models from RKPP).
  3. In case of need turn on the alarm system and expose a sign of an emergency stop.
  4. Prop up protivootkatny boots a wheel located on a diagonals from a subject to replacement.

At procedure performance on a bias it is necessary to enclose boots under both wheels of a serviceable axis from descent.

  1. Prepare the necessary tool (a jack, a ballonny key) and a spare wheel.
  2. At the corresponding complete set remove a protective cap of a disk, then give bolts of fastening of the failed wheel.

  2. Clean the removed wheel and the tool on the regular places.
  3. In summary evenly tighten wheel bolts in a diagonal order ("star") with effort of 110 N • m.

For posting of the car the lift with four paws resting against reference points for a screw jack, or the garage lift which it is possible to establish both on the same points, and under a forward stretcher of the car or under a platform of the back towing device is used.

Transportation of the emergency car

Transportation on a wrecker platform

It is most reasonable to transport the emergency car on the wrecker. Such transportation can be made:

  • Method of complete loading of the faulty car on a wrecker platform;
  • Method of partial loading (one axis on the pendant shelf of the wrecker, and another or on the special cart, or on the earth). Thus the parking brake should be released.

For fastening of an emergency vehicle on a platform of the wrecker it is necessary to use towing eyes.

Towage

Engine start by a method of towage is impossible, for start use the auxiliary battery.

The forward eye for fastening of a towing cable is stored together with a spare wheel in the hatch of a luggage compartment. For installation of a forward eye remove from a fixing opening a plastic cover and reliably screw in it an eye.

For this purpose it is possible to use a key for wheel bolts. Do not leave a forward towing eye established if in it there is no need since at collision, for example, with boltiky the sidewalk it is possible to damage a stretcher. After removal of an eye do not close its opening a cover.

The back eye is established in the center of a back of the car.

If to avoid towage it is not possible, it is most reasonable to make it on a rigid hitch.

Before the towage beginning on the emergency car it is necessary to include ignition, to establish transmission in neutral situation and to release the parking brake.

At towage on a flexible hitch use only cable specially intended for this purpose. Application of modern synthetic materials allowed to adjust release of towing cables of the elastic design minimizing danger of breaks as a result of hit of a sling under wheels of the towed car.

The driver of the towing car should try to move as much as possible evenly, smoothly releasing coupling at gear shifting and, especially, at a troganiye from a place.

At management of a towed vehicle watch, that during movement the cable constantly remained tense, try not to allow sharp breakthroughs and arrivals on a proslablenny cable.

Remember that at the switched-off engine efficiency of braking of the car considerably decreases because the vacuum amplifier of brakes ceases to function. Thus it is necessary to squeeze out a pedal of a working brake with much big, than usually, effort; at maneuvering performance the bigger effort should be put also to a steering wheel since the pump of the amplifier of a steering also will not function.

Before a start of motion drivers of both vehicles (towing and towed) should coordinate among themselves a route.

Movement should be carried out on the shortest route. The faulty car with AT is authorized to tow with a speed no more than 50 km/h and on distance no more than 50 km. Observe traffic regulations, avoid sharp braking, accelerations and superfluous maneuvering. Remember that at car towage on edge of a dirt road always there is a danger of demolition on a roadside.

Before the beginning of towage of the faulty car with AT check level of transmission liquid (see. Head of Control and routine maintenance of the car), – at insufficient level of ATF, it is necessary to modify it, or to tow the car only with the driving wheels torn off from the earth.
