Replacement of brake liquid, pumping of brake system

General information

  1. Brake liquid has property to absorb moisture owing to what since a point of its boiling decreases that at considerable load of brakes can lead to formation of steam bubbles in brake lines and reduce efficiency of action of brakes.
  2. It is necessary to replace brake liquid whenever possible in the spring. At car operation in the mountain district, on the roads processed by salt, and also in the conditions of sea air containing salt to replace brake liquid follows more often than it is stipulated in graphics of routine maintenance (see. Undressed the Schedule of routine maintenance).
  3. For replacement of brake liquid the help of the assistant is required, however on HUNDRED this procedure is usually carried out by means of the special device. When pumping brake system the car should be parked on an equal horizontal platform.

Brake liquid is hazardous to health. Do not suck away her mouth through a hose. Store brake liquid only in capacity to which casual access of children is excluded.

Replacement of brake liquid and pumping of brake system and coupling

 PERFORMANCE ORDER

  1. Disconnect a negative wire from the storage battery.
  2. Uncover the tank of brake liquid (see illustrations Components of a compartment of 4-cylinder engines, subject to regular service, Components of a compartment of the petrol V6 engine, subject to regular service and Components of a compartment of the diesel engine, subject to regular service at the beginning of Head).
  3. Note a felt-tip pen on a tank wall level of brake liquid that then not to change it. Pump out from the tank brake liquid, having left at its bottom a liquid layer in thickness about 10 mm.

Do not delete from the tank all liquid, differently air will get to brake system.

  1. Fill the tank with new brake liquid to a label "MOVE".
  2. Carefully clear and remove protective caps of unions of pumping.
  1. Put on one end of a pure transparent hose the union of pumping of a support of the brake mechanism of a forward left wheel, and other end insert into a vessel for collecting brake liquid. In capacity it is necessary to pour a little brake liquid and constantly to watch that the end of a hose was shipped in it. Also the capacity should be lifted, at least, on 30 cm over the pumping union to provide pressure and to interfere with intake of air to it.
  1. Ask the assistant to 3-5 times to press sharply a brake pedal with intervals 2-3 with and give the union on 1/2-3/4 turns at the squeezed-out pedal. After the pedal of a brake will rest against a floor, tighten the union. Clean a foot from a pedal. Repeating this process, pump out about 100 ml of old brake liquid before emergence new (she can be learned on light color).
  2. Tighten the pumping union, close its protective cap and add in the tank new brake liquid.
  3. In the same way pump out old brake liquid consistently from right back, right forward and left back supports. When pumping back supports it is necessary to pump out about 50 ml of brake liquid.

Merged brake liquid in any case should be pure and without air vials.

  1. On models from RKPP attach a hose to the union of pumping of coupling, give the union and lower about 50 ml of liquid.
  2. Modify level of brake liquid according to a mark put at the beginning of procedure.
  3. Press a pedal of a brake and check its free wheeling. Make sure that the pedal of a brake does not "fail" at its squeezing.
  4. On models from RKPP check serviceability of functioning of coupling.
  5. In summary check action of brakes on the road with not heavy traffic of transport. For this purpose it is necessary to make not less than one strong braking, having checked at the same time ABS action. A sign of serviceable work of ABS is the pulsation of a pedal of a brake when braking.

The effect of action of ABS is best of all shown on an unpaved road.
